Okra

Okra, also known as ladyfinger or gumbo, is a green, flowering plant with edible seed pods. It is widely used in cuisines around the world, particularly in African, Middle Eastern, Southern U.S., and Caribbean dishes. The pods are tender and slightly slimy when cooked, which makes them an excellent thickening agent for soups, stews, and curries, such as gumbo.
